"Dancing in the Rain': Breast cancer patients share experiences in book

"Dancing in the Rain: Surviving Breast Cancer and Learning to Embrace Life" by Frances G. Joyce.

Their bonds were Zumba and breast cancer, and in dancing at a fundraiser for Susan G. Komen for the Cure in Pittsburgh each decided to share her story to help other women and their families coping with the disease.

The result of the friendship and memories of Lisa Sayers, Cat Brennan, Margie DiCello, Susan Veitch and author Frances G. Joyce is an inspirational and informative book, "Dancing in the Rain: Surviving Breast Cancer and Learning to Embrace Life."

In it, each woman takes the reader on her journey from diagnosis to decisions about treatment options to treatment itself to being cancer-free, all the while reminding that cancer need not be a death sentence. Ms. Joyce, of Upper St. Clair, does a good job of making medical terms and processes like chemotherapy understandable.

The book is available at various online sites, including barnesandnoble.com, $17.05, and amazon.com, $18.95 (Kindle edition, $8.99). Ten percent of all profits from the book will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in Pittsburgh.
