Iowa Real Estate Trends | honor-student.com

In the recent months iowa real estate has been having a hard time. The listing prices of houses reflect a healthy economy, but the sale prices are far below what people expect. The difference between the asking price and the sale price is sometimes upwards of $10,000 with the bigger the property the worse the damage is. Lower than normal sale prices is just one of the trends sparking concern in the Iowa City real estate sector.

Another is the number of FSBO?s in the usually high-agent area. FSBO, for sale by owner, includes all types of property that the owner sells without any agency help. The real number of FSBO?s is hard to track, but unfounded research suggests that more people are choosing to at least try to sell their home by themselves first.

There are also a low number of foreclosures in that area

All of these could be a sign that Iowa City residents do not trust their real estate agents.
