Obama to host Harper, Calderon in April

WASHINGTON (AP) ? The White House says President Barack Obama will host Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada and President Felipe Calderon of Mexico for a North American summit in Washington in April.

The April 2 meeting is expected to focus on economic growth and competitiveness, security, energy and climate change. Obama, Harper and Calderon are also expected to discuss North America's role in the upcoming Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia, later in April.

The last summit involving the three North American nations was held by Calderon in Guadalajara, Mexico, in August 2009. Obama postponed plans to host the summit last year after the death of Francisco Blake Mora, Mexico's top Cabinet secretary. Mora was killed in a helicopter crash in November.
